PTI member Shahbaz Gill said on Tuesday that Maryam Nawaz cried out of anger after an eye-opening defeat in the by-elections, he said that other family members were in the meeting.
Shahbaz Gill, held a press conference on July 19th, 2022 after PTI won the Punjab elections held on July 17th, 2022. In his press conference, he addressed Maryam Nawaz by stating “Baji ko corona nahi rona huwa hai”. He further stated that she was crying in a meeting where her uncle, cousin, and a person living abroad were also present, which was held on July 18th at 11 pm.
The meeting was concluded without any results. He asserted that a foreign resident said that if you cannot maintain your self-respect, at least show some consideration for the party. He advised PML-N that it would be better for them and the country to hold General Elections as soon as possible.
The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf trounced the PML-N on Sunday by obtaining at least 15 seats in the crucial by-elections on the 20 seats that fell empty as a result of PTI members being disqualified for endorsing Hamza Shehbaz for the job of Punjab chief minister.
According to unofficial results, PTI won five seats in central Punjab, five in the north, and the same number in south Punjab. In the 14 districts across the province where by-elections were held, Imran Khan’s party lost one seat in Lahore, three in south Punjab, and one in the north.
The ruling PML-N was only able to gain four seats as a result of fielding traitors in every constituency, with the exception of Lahore, where PTI renegade Aleem Khan chose not to run in the by-election.
PTI leader Imran Khan thanked Punjabi party members and voters in a tweet for beating not only PML-N candidates but also the entire establishment, including intimidation by the police and an “obviously biased” Election Commission of Pakistan. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the PTI’s supporters, the PML-Q, Majlis-i Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), and the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC).
I want to first thank our PTI workers & voters of Punjab for defeating not just PMLN candidates but the entire state machinery, esp harassment by police, & a totally biased ECP. Thank you to all our Allies, PMLQ, MWM & Sunni Ittehad Council. pic.twitter.com/TgFqQ7EDj0

The only way forward from here is to hold free and fair elections under an effective ECP. Mr. Khan claimed that taking any other action will simply lead to more political unrest and economic instability.
The only way forward from here is to hold fair & free elections under a credible ECP. Any other path will only lead to greater political uncertainty & further economic chaos.

As the election scoreboard became clear, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz tweeted that her party should accept the results with an open heart and submit in front of the public’s judgment. She added that winning and losing are both aspects of politics. She also counseled her party to recognize its flaws and make a concerted effort to fix them.

Except for a few isolated brawls, heated sloganeering, accusations, and denials at several polling sites, the by-elections were mainly uneventful. Both the PTI and PML-N leaders announced that the province’s voting process was calm as it came to an end at the scheduled hour of 5 pm. Attaullah Tarar, the home minister for the PML-N, added that no significant law and order issues had been recorded.
