The Legend of Maula Jatt not for children: Lashari

Before the historical epic is released, The Legend of Maula Jatt director Bilal Lashari warns viewers not to bring children.

The Waar director stated in a statement that The Legend of Maula Jatt is not for the faint of heart or children back in 2020. He would strongly advise against taking children to the movies because parents might not find the movie appropriate for their children due to the graphic tone of a few moments.

Young children or the weak-willed should not be exposed to such open aggression. The Legend of Maula Jatt, which included violent, action-packed battle scenes and was expected to be the biggest action movie in Pakistani history, had yet to be released when the warning was issued.

The film crosses linguistic and cultural barriers. According to Lashari, the content will be very appealing to the next generation that in the future will prolong the immortality of the fictional characters, Maula and Noori. Together with seasoned screenwriter Nasir Adeeb, who also wrote the original Maula Jatt in 1979, Lashari wrote the film’s script. The movie premiered on October 13, 2022, in theatres.

The Legend of Maula Jatt is the most eagerly anticipated Pakistani film of the year, largely due to the hype that has been created over the past few years due to its stellar cast, which includes Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Gohar Rasheed, Shafqat Cheema, Ali Azmat, and Humaima Malik, as well as in part due to its recently released, expertly cut and presented trailer.

The social and mainstream media were ablaze with activity as soon as the project’s promotion started, anticipating an exciting release on October 13, 2022. This is the reason why a sizable number of journalists attended the movie’s debut on Monday night at the Atrium Cinemas. However, there was a restriction in the invitation that they received: evaluations of The Legend of Maula Jatt should not be released until Wednesday. They were required to sign a contract on that count when they arrived at the location of the special performance. The red carpet razzle-dazzle, which is a staple of premieres, was also absent because there wouldn’t be any appearances by the movie’s stars; instead, there would only be a screening.

The majority of the media walked out of the theatre with glowing reviews of the nearly three-hour-long movie. Some people, without wailing excessively, remarked the heavy bloodletting in it. The movie, which is directed by Bilal Lashari, is a contemporary-looking but not the contemporary remake of the legendary Punjabi box office smash Maula Jatt from 1979, which starred Sultan Rahi as the title character. It has a gloomy texture, and the usage of current technology gives it a historical vibe that gives it a Gladiator-like vibe. In general, the casting is excellent.

Impressive performances by Fawad Khan as Maula Jatt and Hamza Ali Abbasi as Noori Nath, his sworn nemesis. There is, however, a minor issue with Mahira Khan, if nit-picking is permitted. She speaks Punjabi in the movie in a way that makes it appear as though a dainty ghazal-writing poetess was compelled to write and then perform a prose poem in a mushaira.
