During the second T20 International against New Zealand at Seddon Park, Hamilton, on Sunday, Pakistan’s middle-order batsman, Iftikhar Ahmed, expressed frustration towards a spectator who mockingly referred to him as “chachu.”
A video captured the moment when Iftikhar, fielding near the boundary, visibly irritated by the repeated calls from a fan, sharply reacted. He turned to the fan and firmly instructed, “Stay quiet.” This unexpected response surprised everyone, including the fans who tried to defuse the situation by reminding Iftikhar of their support. In return, he reiterated his request for silence. It’s worth noting that Iftikhar Ahmed has consistently asked fans to refrain from calling him ‘chachu,’ believing that the term is used to mock his age. He has previously stated his dislike for the nickname and urged fans not to use it.

In the T20I series, New Zealand edged closer to securing a series win by defeating Pakistan in the second T20I, establishing a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series. Pakistan faced a challenging start in their pursuit of New Zealand’s 195-run target, losing their openers, Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub, early on with only 10 runs on the board.
Despite the initial setbacks, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman staged a comeback, forming a noteworthy 87-run partnership. Fakhar Zaman achieved a remarkable half-century in just 24 balls, showcasing his prowess with five sixes and three fours. However, the middle-order batsmen, including Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, and Aamer Jamal, struggled to make significant contributions and were swiftly dismissed, ultimately falling short by a margin of 21 runs.
