Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn to align this week after 1000 years

Astrophiles will be treated to an exciting experience in the last week of April when a rare celestial phenomenon occurs.

Skygazers will be able to see four planets aligned in a row using the naked eye, according to experts.

The four planets, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, will align in a straight line behind the moon in the eastern sky for roughly one hour before sunrise during the last week of April, according to Subhendu Pattnaik, Deputy Director, Pathani Samanta Planetarium, Bhubaneswar.

After 1,000 years, this once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event will occur.

An uncommon and unique planet alignment known as the ‘planet parade’ will occur during the last week of April 2022. Although the term ‘planet parade’ has no scientific explanation, it is often used in astronomy to describe an event in which planets from the solar system line up in a row in the same location of the sky, according to Pattnaik.

He went on to describe the three most typical sorts of “planet parades.” The first form of planet parade, he explained, occurs when planets line up on one side of the Sun as seen from above the plane of our solar system. Three planets aligning on one side of the Sun is fairly common and can be observed for several days throughout the year.

A four-planet alignment happens once a year, whereas a five-planet alignment happens once every nineteen years. The alignment of all eight planets happens every 170 years or so. He explained that the third sort of planet parade occurs only on rare occasions when observing all or some of the planets is possible. Planet parades are another name for these events. Several times a year, three planets can be seen in the same section of the sky at the same moment.

The planet parade in April, according to Pattnaik, will be the ‘third type’ of the procession. The last time these planets paraded was about 1,000 years ago, in 947 AD.
