Olivia Rodrigo, a singer-songwriter, just required one album to be awarded Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2022, joining Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga on the list.
On March 2, the former teen actor turned pop artist will be named Woman of the Year 2022 at the Billboard Women in Music Awards. Cardi B, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande are among the previous honorees.
With her confessional debut album, Rodrigo became the year’s biggest breakout performer, smashing chart records and garnering awards and nominations. Rodrigo’s exploration of heartbreak, envy, and insecurity on SOUR set streaming records and had all 11 singles chart in the top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming her the first female artist to do so.
