Trackside Culinary Excellence: Pakistan Railways Unveils Steaks, Burgers & BBQ for an Unparalleled Dining Experience

The CEO of Pakistan Railways, Amir Baloch, inaugurated the ‘Premium Lounge,’ an advanced dining car located at Lahore Railway Station. This endeavor aims to elevate the overall satisfaction of passengers through the provision of a contemporary and comfortable dining space.

The ‘Premium Lounge,’ associated with the Bahauddin Zakariya Express, marks the initial stride taken by railway management to enhance amenities. In discussions with the media, the Pakistan Railways CEO underscored the importance of improving passenger experiences, elevating food and beverage standards, and ensuring value for money in the design of the dining car. The upcoming phase involves extending the same modern facilities to the Hazara Express, demonstrating Railways’ commitment to upgrading services.

Baloch emphasized that, despite numerous challenges, Pakistan Railways is dedicated to offering passengers top-notch facilities. He shared that they have collaborated with a private company to execute the project on a ‘Develop-and-run’ basis. When questioned, the Chief Executive unveiled that the Lahore dining car contract spans one year, presenting bedding services to passengers for Rs 250 per person. He also revealed that the dining car can accommodate up to 45 passengers simultaneously, featuring a menu with over 40 dishes. Furthermore, a provision has been made for baking fresh ‘roti’ using an oven, and the offerings will extend to barbecue and pizza. Additionally, the railway management intends to introduce several more dining cars to trains soon.
