Poster for film Aar Paar is finally out

The upcoming feature film Aar Paar, which was shot in Lahore, Karachi, and the Gurdwara at Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib, is one of the first to focus on the fears that the coronavirus has imposed on the common man.

Mashood Qadri, the film’s screenwriter and producer, insists that the picture is much more than that.

Qadri, an Arizona-based kidney physician and producer, previously wrote and produced Saawan. The film was Pakistan’s entry for the 89th Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Film category.

Erum Akhtar, Shamyl Khan, and Moammar Rana feature in Aar Paar, whose poster is available now.

Saleem Daad, one of Pakistan’s most well-known film and commercial cinematographers, directed the film. His credits include Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, Abdullah: The Final Witness, Balu Mahi, and Mehrunisa V Lub U.

Last year, in March and November of 2021, the film was shot.

“Aar Paar is the narrative of a powerful woman named Sara (Erum Akhtar), who is fighting for integrity while standing bravely against a collection of social evils,” according to Qadri.

Shamyl Khan plays Kamal Ahsan, a suffering spouse who is attempting to overcome social myths in the face of peer pressure.

“The character, a failed spouse and hesitant father, is shown suffering from boredom as a result of his inability to cope with the stresses of Covid-related lockdowns. He’s frustrated, irritable, and, worst of all, paranoid,” Qadri remarked.

The situation worsened when a group of “society’s evils,” as Qadri refers to them, “started playing their hidden cards to further alienate the couple.”

Arman Singh, Kamal’s buddy from Chandigarh, India, is played by Moammar Rana, and he tries to save Kamal and Sara’s marriage. According to Qadri, the film is about friendship, interconnected family dynamics, and motherhood’s triumph.
