T20I Series between Pakistan and England to Begin on September 16

The Men in Green will now prepare for the domestic T20I series against England after Pakistan’s disastrous showing in the T20 Asia Cup 2022.

The players will depart for their separate destinations following the arrival of Babar Azam and the group in Lahore. Monday saw the start of the National Stadium’s preparations, but the anticipated foundation was disrupted by rain. When it started to rain, groundskeepers had to cover the square to prepare the outfield and pitch. A few days from now, branding and stand cleaning will start. On September 15, the early morning arrival of the England team is anticipated in Karachi.

The English team will unwind on September 16 before starting its training. Karachi will play home to four T20 Internationals on September 20, 22, 23, and 25. Lahore will thereafter host three T20Is on September 28, September 30, and October 2. Pakistan’s lineup for the T20I series will be made public this week. The team that participated in the T20 Asia Cup 2022 is reportedly going to make several changes. The Green Shirts were defeated by Sri Lanka in the final of the T20 Asia Cup in 2022. Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup for the sixth time after defeating them by a score of 23 runs.

The ECB announced on Friday that the England and Wales and Pakistan T20I series, which will consist of seven games, will begin later this month in Karachi. According to a statement from the ECB, the England Men’s selection panel has also chosen the team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, which starts in October. After fully recuperating from their respective ailments, two-seam bowlers Chris Woakes and Mark Wood have been added to both squads. The pair’s most recent England appearance was in March during the Test series against the West Indies.

Both Chris Jordan (finger) and Liam Livingstone (ankle), who was selected for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad, will continue their recovery and won’t tour Pakistan before the World Cup, but they are still anticipated to be ready for the event in Australia. While carrying a calf injury, England’s Captain Jos Buttler will go to Pakistan and is expected to be able to participate in the final three games of the seven-match series.

In Buttler’s absence, Moeen Ali will lead the group as captain. Five uncapped players will participate in the first tour to Pakistan since 2005, according to the announcement. Jordan Cox of Kent is competing alongside Lancashire seamer Luke Wood, Middlesex seamer Tom Helm, Surrey right-handed bat Will Jacks, Warwickshire quick Olly Stone, and Warwickshire fast Olly Stone. The tour group will travel to Pakistan on a plane on September 14.
