The launch of Starship, the most high-powered rocket ever built and the spacecraft that will carry people to the Moon, Mars, and beyond, was postponed by SpaceX.
Due to a booster stage pressurization issue, the massive rocket’s flight was aborted only minutes before the scheduled launch time, according to SpaceX. Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX, claimed that a pressure valve seemed to be stuck, delaying the launch that had been scheduled for 8:20am Central Time (1320 GMT) from Starbase, the SpaceX spaceport in Boca Chica, Texas. At least 48 hours is needed before the launch, according to SpaceX. For the first time since the Apollo project was discontinued in 1972, the US space agency NASA has chosen the Starship spaceship to transport astronauts to the Moon in late 2025. This mission is known as Artemis III. The Starship is made up of a 230-foot-tall first-stage Super Heavy booster rocket and a 164-foot-tall spaceship with the capacity to transport people and goods. The Starship spaceship and the Super Heavy rocket have never flown together, despite SpaceX successfully testing the 33 Raptor engines on the first-stage booster in February.
