He persisted in his search for his father, especially after receiving a phone call from an unidentified caller who revealed his parents’ identities to him. The mother kept eluding her son and sent him threats to get out of her way, but he persisted in his search. After finding his father, Islam claimed that his mother phoned him live on local television and expressed her want to see him.
Separately on Friday, September 23, 2022, at around 5 p.m., the Houma Police Department got a call reporting that a mother had thrown her 18-month-old baby from the Liberty Street Bridge. Asha Randolph, a 30-year-old woman, is said to have dove into the water after that to save the youngster, according to the police. The young man was treated at a nearby hospital and is anticipated to make a full recovery. Shortly after, Randolph was detained and accused of attempting first-degree murder. Police brought further allegations of child abandonment and obstruction of justice on Monday. The woman’s two other children, ages 6 and 8, were left in the car unattended during the event and are currently under the care of the Department of Child and Family Services, according to officials.
In another incident on June 2022, a Sri Lankan mother allegedly tossed her five-year-old kid over a bridge into the Kelani River in Wattala, Colombo. She then tried to leap over the bridge herself but was stopped by onlookers, according to the police. The woman, a resident of Hendala, Wattala, was reportedly using crutches, according to the police media section.
