Shoaib Akhtar sends a video message after crucial Knee Surgery in Australia

Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistani pace bowler, has always had serious knee issues. Akhtar has played significantly less cricket than he should have throughout his career because of these ongoing issues with his knee.

Following knee surgery in Australia, he uploaded a video to his Instagram account. The former right-handed fast bowler claimed he needed more surgery because of significant knee problems. Since Akhtar has had knee issues for the past 11 years, his operations have prevented him from playing a lot of cricket.

He underwent knee surgery on both of them and is now recovering in Melbourne. The 46-year-old claimed in the video that he just got out of surgery. It took about 5 to 6 hours. He needs our wishes because he is a little uncomfortable. He is hoping it’s the last operation. He added that he could have played more cricket, but he knew if he had, he would have needed a wheelchair. But it was worthwhile to represent Pakistan. He would follow the same course of action if he had to repeat it all.

Shoaib Akhtar hoped that this was his final surgery after undergoing five of these types of procedures in the past. “At the moment, I feel pain. Please pray for me. I’m hoping this will be my final operation,” he remarked. Shoaib Akhtar even claimed that in the end, it was all worthwhile since he represented Pakistan and that, given the chance, he would endure the same suffering for his nation. “Yet again, Pakistan benefited from everything. Benefits of bowling quickly include having to lose bones, but that’s okay; if I had to do it all over again, I would, the fast bowler added.

Shoaib Akhtar has represented Pakistan in 14 T20 Internationals, 163 ODIs, and 46 Tests. The quick bowler recorded 178 test wickets, 247 ODI wickets, and 21 T20I wickets in his career. He actually holds the record for the fastest delivery in bowling history at a speed of 100 mph. In interviews he gave earlier this year, he talked about the painful injuries he had sustained over the course of his career. Akhtar revealed that he underwent nine surgeries in addition to 62 shots and 42 injections in his left knee.

Bone-on-bone damage resulted from his knee injuries. Imagine the pain he had to experienced. It was terrible. He used to fall asleep in an ice bath. It was common for his colleagues to advise him to leave the bathtub and go to bed because it was so early in the morning. Before having surgery, Shoaib Akhtar went on a pilgrimage as a royal guest.
