Punjab Government Resumes Free Travel Facility for Students

In a proactive effort to address transportation difficulties for students in inclement weather, the caretaker government of Punjab has opted to restore the complimentary travel service on Metro Buses and Orange Line Trains.

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued clear instructions to officials, highlighting the significance of assisting students during unfavorable weather conditions. Consequently, students up to the twelfth grade now have the opportunity to benefit from free travel on all Metro Buses and the Orange Line Train until the onset of the summer vacation. This decision not only seeks to ease the burden on students but also underscores the government’s dedication to ensuring that transportation options are both accessible and affordable for the younger population.

Extending the complimentary travel service is an endeavor by the interim government to enhance students’ commuting convenience, allowing them to concentrate on their studies without the additional financial strain of transportation expenses. This student-friendly measure aligns with the government’s broader dedication to supporting education and prioritizing the well-being of young individuals. Given the demanding weather conditions of the winter season, this decision is expected to positively influence students’ daily routines, creating a favorable setting for academic pursuits.

In essence, the choice to reinstate free travel services on Metro Buses and Orange Line Trains underscores the caretaker Punjab government’s commitment to advancing education and putting the well-being of students at the forefront, especially during challenging weather conditions. This student-centric strategy seeks to improve access to public transportation and ease the financial burden on students and their families.
