Police responded to a citizen’s complaint and filed a case against Mian Aslam Iqbal, the member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for torture and taking of a cell phone.
At the Samanabad police station, Mian Aslam Iqbal and other individuals were detained in connection with a case of mobile theft. During PTI’s foundation day event at Doongi Ground Samanabad, the complainant said he was recording a video with his cell device.
He stated that Iqbal’s friends, including Nadeem, Ali Imran, and six other unidentified people, knocked them to the ground before Mian Aslam Iqbal took his wallet, which contained Rs25,000 in cash, and his mobile.
In addition, it was alleged that they had tortured the complainant.
The case against the accused was filed by Samanabad police under several laws. Sources state that after the complaint was filed, Iqbal was granted a temporary freedom by the sessions court, which was good until May 16.
The PTI leader was required by the local court to appear before the investigators. A plea for information on the cases was also filed by the PTI leader with the high court. Next, in response to his petition, Justice Ali Zia Bajwa asked the parties for their comments.
