President Biden Contracts Covid-19 with Mild Symptoms

President Biden was quarantined in the White House to recover from what appeared to be minor symptoms after testing positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

His doctor added that since he is fully immunized and has been given a coronavirus boost, he should respond well to treatment. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced the president, who is 79 years old, has begun taking Paxlovid, a Pfizer antiviral medication, in a statement revealing his diagnosis. Mr. Biden tested positive for the coronavirus for the first time that is known to have happened.

In accordance with CDC recommendations, she stated that he will isolate in the White House and will continue to fully do all of his duties during that period. He will participate in his scheduled meetings at the White House this morning via phone and Zoom from the house. He has been in contact with members of the White House staff via phone this morning.

Mr. Biden gave an update on his health in a video message posted to Twitter, stating that he continued to work from the White House apartment. He assumes we heard that he tested positive for COVID. However, he has received two vaccinations and two booster shots. The signs are minor, said the president. He also appreciates our questions and worries. However, he is doing great, finishing a ton of work, and will keep doing it.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the White House doctor, stated in a letter made public by the White House that Mr. Biden’s antigen test initially discovered the coronavirus and the result was subsequently validated by a PCR test. He has a runny nose, an infrequent dry cough, and exhaustion. The president has received two booster shots, the most recent of which was at the end of March, and is completely immunized. He took his first Pfizer dose in December 2020 and his second in January 2021. The president will respond favorably, as most maximally protected patients do, O’Connor stated in his letter.

Mr. Biden had most recently undergone a COVID-19 screening on Tuesday, and the results were negative, according to Jean-Pierre, before the test on Thursday. The first lady Dr. Jill Biden tested negative for COVID-19 on Thursday morning in Delaware, according to her spokesperson Michael LaRosa. The first lady also told reporters in Detroit on Thursday that her test came back negative.
