Pakistan’s Entertainment Stars Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Sanam Saeed, and Ahad Raza Mir Join Forces for Netflix Original

The first Netflix original from Pakistan has been announced, which is a first. According to Variety, important characters in the TV show “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo” will be portrayed by Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, and Ahad Raza Mir.

With its all-star cast promising to enthrall viewers everywhere, this ground-breaking show will be Netflix’s first foray into Pakistani-themed entertainment. “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo” is an adaptation of Farhat Ishtiaq’s famous 2013 Urdu-language novel of the same name. It chronicles the riveting journey of Sikandar, a brilliant Harvard law student whose life takes an unexpected turn, forcing him to create emotional distance between himself and others.

He meets Liza in Italy, a talented artist with a vibrant present but a turbulent past that haunts her. Their chance encounter weaves their futures together in a story of tremendous human connection. A who’s who of Pakistani entertainment is represented in the cast, which includes charismatic Fawad and Pakistani darling Mahira, who reunited following their record-breaking success in “The Legend of Maula Jatt,” Pakistan’s highest-grossing movie to date. Sanam joins the ensemble cast alongside Ahad, whose recent roles in Netflix’s “Resident Evil” and the BBC’s second season of “World on Fire” have attracted a lot of attention. Sanam previously starred alongside Fawad in “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” and the upcoming Zindagi series, “Barzakh.”

Hamza Ali Abbasi, renowned for his role as the primary villain Noori Nath in “The Legend of Maula Jatt,” has joined the cast, contributing to its overall improvement. They are accompanied by Samina Ahmed, Omair Rana, Iqra Aziz, Khushaal Khan, Maya Ali, Bilal Ashraf, and Maya Ali. With such a diverse group of skills, spectators should expect to be moved by the performances. Momina Duraid, who also serves as the director, is in charge of “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo.” Her capacity to create narratives that capture both emotion and realism is evidenced by the production house’s earlier works, such as “Bin Roye,” “Chand Tara,” and “Fairytale.” The fact that the show was commissioned by Netflix’s Middle East and North Africa division shows how dedicated the streaming giant is to showcasing a variety of regional stories.

The next drama will have a setting that is both visually spectacular and culturally significant, thanks to the production’s cross-continental reach, which included shooting locations in Pakistan, the UK, and Italy. The expectation is growing even though a precise release date for streaming has not yet been announced. Farhat’s literary genius has been adapted for the big screen before; however, this is not a first. Her earlier works have been effectively adapted for Pakistani television, including several popular serials such as “Humsafar,” “Mere Humdum Mere Dost,” “Matae Jaan Hai Tu,” “Diyar-e-Dil,” “Bin Roye,” and “Yaqeen Ka Safar.”

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming Netflix series “Heeramandi” will also immerse viewers in the fabric of pre-independence India through scenes set in the Heeramandi neighborhood of Lahore, which is currently inside Pakistan’s borders. “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo,” Pakistan’s first Netflix original series, not only has the potential to be a historical production for the streaming giant and Pakistani entertainment, but it also has the potential to serve as a bridge that unites many viewers around the world using the universal language of great storytelling.
