Pakistan’s Asim Khan beats Indian opponent to kick-start MMA Championship Tournament

In the opening round of the Mixed Martial Arts Championship, Pakistani fighter Asim Khan defeated Indian fighter Hevish Reddy and took home the trophy for the fastest finisher.

In his first fight, Pakistani fighter Asim Khan defeated Indian opponent Pratik Sadashiv in the MMA Championship. He missed the remaining fights in the 2021 championship because of an injury. In Pattaya, Thailand, the Mixed Martial Arts Championship 2022 will go on till November 13.

In the Asian Pacific MMA Championship, Pakistan’s Shahzeb successfully defended his championship. Shahzeb, a well-known mixed martial artist from Pakistan, defeated Prateek Sadashiv of India to retain his Asian championship. In the competition, Pakistan is represented by Liaquat Ali, Asim Khan, and Hamza Khan.

Separately, Ismail Khan made us proud in February 2022 when he became the first Pakistani to win a medal at the IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) World Championships, and now more kids want to reach higher,” explains a very proud coach and mentor Nasir Khan Yousafzai what the title by the 22-year-old means for Pakistan. Ismail’s journey and accomplishments serve as an example of the enormous talent Pakistan possesses as well as how a little club with baby steps and a love of community can produce fantastic success on the world scale.

After a strong performance on January 26, Ismail won the bronze medal in the IMMAF World Championships in Abu Dhabi. He continued to be a tough opponent for elite fighters, defeating Giannis Balampanidis of Greece in the first round, Amir Hamza Islamovin of Tajikistan in the second round, and then pulling off a stunning upset by winning the fight against Fidel Gramiccia of Italy by unanimous decision. Ismail only lost his composure in the subsequent match against Russia’s Shakhban Gapizov, which forced him to accept third place in the bantamweight category.

Yousafzai notes that the triumph and the campaign at the IMMAF World Championships speak volumes about the talent and commitment of Ismail, who was chosen to be a part of the Pak Mixed Martial Arts Federation squad.

Ismail is a boy from Rawalpindi who works a day job at a store counter. Yousafzai must fulfill his dual roles as a combatant and a software engineer with a degree from Islamabad’s Islamic University, where he also met his mentor. He believes that the government should do better and give the combatants in his community at least some consideration. Currently, his club comprises 20 to 25 fighters.
