Pakistan reduces Fares for students flying to China

For the two weekly flights on the Islamabad-Chengdu-Islamabad and Islamabad-Xian-Beijing-Islamabad routes, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has granted Pakistani students a 10% discount.

An airline official told APP here on Sunday that students returning to their home countries from China after finishing school could immediately benefit from the discount. Many Pakistani students with enrollments in Chinese colleges who are currently stranded in Pakistan because of Covid-19 travel restrictions desire to travel to China to enroll in offline courses. In this regard, they are awaiting the Chinese government’s consent.

After a break of over six months during which the airports in Xian and Beijing were blocked to foreign flights due to Covid-19 prevention and control measures, the PIA resumed passenger flights between Pakistan and China. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister of Federal Education, announced in June 2022 to give addressing the problem of Pakistani students studying in Chinese institutions primary priority. The minister gave the Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructions on how to make it easier for Pakistani students to obtain visas.

The gathering was called to talk about problems facing Pakistani students who are studying in China. Senior representatives from the Ministry of Education, MoFA, HEC, PIA, and Aviation Division were present. He stated that the concerns of Pakistani students are of the utmost significance while presiding over a meeting in Islamabad. Rana stressed the value of encouraging the nation’s youth by referring to the pupils as our children. The pupils, he claimed, are a benefit to the nation. He was informed that 150 Pakistani students will travel to Xian, China, on a special charter aircraft of PIA on the seventh of this month.

PIA to resume flights to Europe

The forum was informed, at the Federal Minister’s request, that the ticket costs had been heavily reduced to make them more affordable for the students. Rana Tanveer was informed that while 17 visas are still outstanding, 112 student visas have already been granted to students from Pakistan. Rana Tanveer underlined the value of assisting the nation’s youth by claiming that the kids are our children. The pupils, he claimed, are a benefit to the nation. In July 2022, Pakistan Foreign Airlines (PIA) lowered the cost of its international flights in response to the government’s initiatives to cut the price of petroleum products. According to a PIA representative, the national airline has cut the cost of overseas flights in accordance with the directives of Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
