After 18 losses in a row, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team has finally won their first World Cup series, and Pakistani Twitter is ecstatic. Nida Dar was the show’s star, winning both the Player of the Match award and a place in everyone’s hearts.

Pakistan won the 2022 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup for the first time, defeating the West Indies by eight wickets in Hamilton, Ontario.

The West Indies were reduced to 89/7 by Pakistani spinners before the batters maintained their composure to secure an eight-wicket victory.

It was “one of the most unforgettable moments” of Dar’s career, she said.

Netizens echoed the sentiments, praising the triumph and Dar for her 4/10 statistics in four overs.

Dar’s tweet about the Afridis being one of her favourite players and inspiring the way she celebrates victories has gone viral.
