MQM which has now been united has opted out of local bodies election in the early hours of 15th of January in a presser after midnight.
Dr Khalid Maqbool Saddiqi in a press conference with all the factions standing together announced to stand away from the well awaited local body elections of the biggest city of the country.
MQM which previously was considered to be the biggest stakeholder of Karachi explained why they wanted to step away from the elections saying that their reservations were not addressed.

MQM Pakistan was not satisfied from the divisions of constituencies of the city. Dr Khalid Maqbool Saddiqi mainly accused Election Commission of Pakistan for the injustice. They were of the view that MQM dominant cities have been badly jerrymandered.
