Most Wanted Gangster: Bilal Sabit Killed in IB-Police Intelligence Operation

Bilal Sabit, the most wanted gangster and dacoit in Rawalpindi, was assassinated in a joint intelligence operation by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police.

Sabit was responsible for the murders of multiple police and IB officers. Imtiaz Ahmed, another dacoit, was also murdered in the confrontation along with another person.

Due to his repeated targeting of police officers, Bilal Sabit had been on the twin cities police’s most wanted list for a while. According to a police officer, he had targeted tens of police officers in the previous year alone.

The officer added, “He opened fire at two police officials in Sector D-12 on June 19, as they were travelling towards Golra police station, however both the policemen narrowly survived,” adding that they had filed a FIR under terrorism charges against Bilal and his accomplice.

Station House officer Shakeel Khan of Peshawar, Additional Secretary Noman Afridi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eight IB employees, along with three additional police officers, were all murdered by Bilal. He had also targeted the IG Motorway, his brother, and members of the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS).

In order to capture the dacoit who had been responsible for hundreds of attacks on police officers specifically, the police had asked the IB for help. The intelligence agency placed the gangsters’ activities under strict surveillance, and various police teams and the IB continued to keep an eye on them, according to police sources.

The police were able to find him when he stole a car in Rawalpindi and tried to escape the city, according to a news report by Dawn. When Bilal and his accomplice Imtiaz were captured by the police, they fired on the security guards, killing one bystander in the process. In retaliation, the team shot Bilal and his companion to death.

The Islamabad Police took to twitter to tweet about the incident, “@ICT_Police and IB joint team has achieved a huge success and notorious criminal Bilal Sabit has been killed in area of Rawalpindi in a police encounter. Kudos to team work.”
