Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other businesses, has announced two new projects in Pakistan, the Online Safety Guide and StopNCII, to assist women in safety navigating cyberspace (non-consensual intimate images).
The safety advise is released in English and Urdu with the hopes of increasing digital literacy and responsible online behaviour among users, resulting in a safe online place for women to communicate and express themselves without fear of being judged.
The safety guidance is part of Meta’s attempt to equip and train women for the difficulties of the current digital world, according to the firm.
In Pakistan, millions of people use Meta platforms to communicate and pursue common interests.
The safety guide lists all of the safety options accessible on Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp, as well as for instructions on how women may utilise them to surf the internet more safely and protect themselves from illegal and fraudulent activity.
StopNCII was created with Meta’s expert help and funding in partnership with a global NGO partner, the UK Revenge Porn Helpline, to prevent the transmission of non-consensual intimate photos (NCII), also known as Revenge Porn.
StopNCII.org has a global reach and now provides assistance to people through regional partners who speak for local victims. It employs cutting-edge technology to proactively prevent the dissemination of compromising images and videos on the internet.
