Media remembers Queen’s Sense of Humor

The Guardian News’ YouTube channel uploaded a video of ‘Queen Elizabeth’s sense of humor remembered: from off-mic quips to tea with Paddington Bear’ after the death of Queen Elizabeth on 8th September 2022.

The video shared some of her hilarious moments on screen. Her 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebration featured a stand-up comedy featuring Paddington Bear, a popular fictional figure in Britain, so it was only right. The Queen tells a bear who is at risk of dehydration during a tea party at the palace that she maintains a supply of marmalade sandwiches in her handbag. Then, the two of them began hitting the Chinese teacups with their spoons while singing “We Will Rock You.” The audience watching the filmed performance outside Buckingham Palace passed out.

In another clip, the Queen held a reception in June 2021 with volunteers who are helping to plan her Platinum Jubilee, which will mark her 70th year on the throne and take place the following year. Kate Middleton, her granddaughter-in-law, and her daughter-in-law Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall accompanied her. A sizable celebratory cake joined her as well, which she chose to slice with a ritual sword. She laughed it off when someone at the gathering said that she shouldn’t use a sword as a cake knife. She was kindly informed that there was a knife available to cut the cake with, and she replied, “I know there is. This is more unusual.”

In another clip, the Queen welcomed the G7 leaders for a royal reception in 2021, demonstrating that she still has a great sense of humor. During a group photo, the 95-year-old Monarch said, “Are you supposed to be looking as if you’re enjoying yourself?” To which the UK’s Prime Minister replied, “Yes, we have been enjoying ourselves”.

In the following clip, the Queen and David Attenborough were seen strolling through Buckingham Palace’s garden. The Queen makes a casual remark on the decision to “ban youngsters playing conkers” because of “health and safety” as she and Sir David joke over a sad-looking tree that she suggests had been “sat on” at a garden party. A helicopter flies overhead while the two converse in the garden, and the Queen remarks, “Why do they constantly fly round and round when you want to talk?” She continues by making a joke that “sounds like President Trump.”

The following clip shows the viral video of Prince Harry and his 90-year-old grandmother being videotaped when Harry’s iPhone rang while they were perusing the Invictus Games brochure in a sitting room at Windsor Castle. The Queen, dressed in a cardigan and pearls, leans in for a closer look as a message from Michelle Obama appears on his screen. The Obamas, who had lunch with the Queen last week at Windsor Castle. Michelle approaches her husband with her arms crossed and a serious expression, “Hey, Prince Harry.” You told us to bring it to the Invictus Games, remember? ” “Careful what you wish for,” the president interrupts, waving his finger while a group of servicemen laughs around in the background and one of them utters the word “boom.” The Queen comments deadpanned, “Boom really? Please.”

During her visit to Malta in the central Mediterranean in 2015, Queen Elizabeth II made a humorous comment to Trudeau thanking him for making her feel “old” at a summit of the 53 Commonwealth nations. The 43-year-old recalled the high points of Her Majesty’s ongoing presence in Canada and how her visits might be used to summarize the entirety of the nation’s “modern history.” “Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister of Canada, for making me feel so old,” the Queen said later at the podium.

An unexpected but enjoyable beginning was provided by a special appearance by Queen Elizabeth II alongside Daniel Craig as James Bond during the London 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony. The fictitious spy drives the Queen in a chopper from Buckingham Palace to the Olympics during the skit.

The Queen, played by the actor was then shown leaping from the plane while wearing a Union Jack parachute. The Queen’s secrecy about her engagement with her family made the scene even more entertaining.
