Maldives Defeated By Pakistan at the SAFF Women’s Championship

In their final game in the SAFF Women’s Cup, the Pakistan women’s football team defeated the Maldives by a score of 7-0 to end the competition on a high note. Nadia Khan, a star player for the greens, scored four goals to become the first Pakistani woman to score four goals in a women’s international game.

With a goal from 25 meters, Pakistan’s young Rameen Fareed gave his team the lead in the 39th minute. Khadija Kazmi successfully scored a goal off of a penalty kick in the 48th minute to double Pakistan’s lead. The chance to demonstrate her skills then presented itself to Nadia. The Pakistani player who lives in the UK exceeded everyone with her remarkable talent and outstanding control as she scored four goals in a row.

She added goals in the 53rd, 78th, and 84th minutes to complete her hat trick, then in the 89th minute, she once more found the back of the net to score her fourth. She joined Hajra Khan and Malika e Noor on the list of Pakistani female players with the most goals scored internationally in a career after becoming the first Pakistani to ever score four goals in a single game. Anmol Heera scored one more goal for Pakistan in extra time to bring the score to 7-0. With this, Pakistan’s 2022 SAFF Women’s Cup campaign came to a successful conclusion. The team had already lost to Bangladesh and India, preventing them from moving on to the semifinal. It is important to remember that this was Pakistan’s first international event since 2014.

This is the ideal starting point for us, Adeel Rizki, the head coach of Pakistan, stated in a post-game press conference that “it doesn’t get any better than today.” The women’s team had been excluded from international competition for the majority of the previous ten years due to institutional issues with the Pakistan Football Federation. If Pakistan’s FIFA sanction hadn’t been lifted in June, not even participating in this tournament would have been conceivable. Rizki continued that they could have stated they couldn’t do this because they had very little time to prepare. But they grabbed this chance by the horns and held a camp for the past month. Although it wasn’t simple, they made every effort to get here.

They are going to keep the momentum going. After returning home, they will take a breather before attempting to organize more matches for the squad and starting some national events.

British-Pakistani Football Player Nadia Khan, Pleased To Represent Pakistan

Rameen Fareed’s long-range attempt beat Maldives goalkeeper Aminath Leeza on the rebound for the game’s first goal as Pakistan, already eliminated from semi-final contention, looked to end the tournament on a strong note. Pakistan then destroyed the Maldives. Three minutes into the second half, Khadija Kazmi scored from the penalty spot to double Pakistan’s advantage before Nadia took over with goals in the 53rd, 78th, and 84th minutes, outpacing the Maldives defense with her speed.
