For their forthcoming exhibition game against Quetta Gladiators on February 5 in Quetta, Peshawar Zalmi has named Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal as their head coach.
Before being passed over in the most recent draft for the upcoming season, Akmal served Zalmi for seven seasons up to last year. Inzamam ul Haq, a former Pakistani legend, will also act as a team consultant for the Babar Azam-led Zalmi team during the exhibition game.
With 1972 runs under his belt, Akmal ranks second all-time in the PSL in terms of run scoring. Akmal recently assumed leadership of an eight-person youth cricket selection committee after being appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The game is being held in preparation for the 8th HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), which will run from February 13 to March 19.
The Quetta Gladiators’ starting lineup is as follows: Sarfaraz Ahmed (c/wk), Abdul Wahid Bangalzai, Bismillah Khan, Umar Akmal, Saud Shakeel, Ahsan Ali, Umaid Asif, Umair Bin Yousuf, Aimal Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, M Nawaz, Naseem Shah, M Hasnain, and Khushdil Shah. HaseebUllah Khan, Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Sufyan Muqeem, Danish Aziz, Mohammad Haris (wk), Salman Irshad, Saim Ayub, Usman Qadir, Azam Khan, Haider Ali, Amir Jamal, and Usama Mir are the Peshawar Zalmi. Babar Azam is the team captain.
