Jinnah statue’s glass stolen, replaced in Vihari

Monocle of Quaid-e-Azam’s statue in Vihari was stolen and replaced after news went viral on social media on Monday. The statue is situated in the Deputy Commissioner’s Complex in Vehari, Punjab.

News broke on Sunday that glass of statue of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at the DC office had been stolen. It was a monocle which was replaced by the evening of Monday, while the case of theft is still underway.

According to Vehari police officer Irfan Choudary, the theft took place on December 4th but was discovered after a netizen published a photo of the statue and pointed out that his glass is missing.

Usman Buzdar, the Punjab Chief Minister, was apprised of the occurrence and requested a report from the Multan commissioner.

When the incident got viral on Social media SHO of Sadar Police Station Aamir Nadeem took action and an FIR registered at Sadar Police Station of Vehari.

Vihari police say search is still underway, with the police relying on CCTV footage from the deputy commissioner’s office cameras for aid.
