Imran Khan Was Struck By Pieces not Bullets: Medical Report

Politicians in Pakistan and social media disagree over how many bullets hit former Prime Minister Imran Khan during the shooting.

According to some sources, the chairman of PTI was shot four times, but according to other reports, just two of the bullets hit him in the legs. According to Khan’s medical report, his leg was shot four times. After Imran Khan survived a shooting at a political gathering in Wazirabad on November 3, conflicting explanations were made by him and members of his political party, leaving social media users curious as to how Khan was hurt.

One Twitter user remarked, “Khan after taking four bullets in his legs, the fighter, and the survivor.” He released a video, which more than 19,000 people watched. While several Twitter accounts questioned whether the politician had been struck by four bullets. Was Imran Khan injured by two bullets, then some reporters claimed three, and then Imran Khan recently claimed four?, a second Twitter user remarked. Imran Khan’s statements increased the uncertainty. Khan stated in a video statement he released from the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Lahore on November 4 that his injuries were brought on by four bullets that struck him.

Khan, however, claimed to CNN on November 7 that the doctors “pulled out three bullets” a few days later. The senior members of Khan’s PTI assert that the former prime minister was shot twice. The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, where the former prime minister received treatment following the attack, provided a medical report, a computed tomography (CT) scan, and an X-ray of Imran Khan. These documents have been reviewed by Geo Fact Check. Additionally, doctors and hospital management were contacted by Geo Fact Check. Khan’s right leg was discovered to have “four bullet fragments,” according to the medical report. There were four stuck, two above and two below the knee. The central tibial shaft of the right leg was fractured when a bullet fragment measuring 1.8 x 1.1 cm struck it.

According to the report, all four gunshot fragments were removed during surgery, and a plaster was applied to the right leg to aid in recovery. Around the knee of the left leg, five to six bits of metal were discovered. The shards from the left side were left alone because there was no fracture there and they did not endanger the body, according to the report. It also mentions that there was only a small amount of blood lost, therefore the former prime minister didn’t require any blood transfusions. The Shaukat Khanum Hospital’s medical staff and administration independently confirmed to Geo Fact Check that the bullets struck a metal and dispersed before striking Khan. Due to the sensitivity of the situation, they requested not to be named. Additionally, the Hospital’s news release makes numerous references to “bullet fragments” rather than “bullet pellets.” Since then, Khan has gone back to his home, where he is healing from his wounds.
