Imam-E-Ka’aba urges Assistance for Pakistani Flood Victims

Imam-e-Ka’aba Abdul Rahman al-Sudais has pleaded for a reaction to the nationwide effort for the relief of the amiable Pakistani people and called for lending a helping hand and showing kindness to them to overcome the humanitarian calamity brought on by the terrible floods.

He announced via Twitter that King Salman Relief’s website is where donations can be sent in support of Pakistan’s flood victims. The Pakistani people are our religious brothers. He urged Saudi citizens, including foreigners, to ensure helping the flood victims, saying that they have deep and historic links with it. He claimed that the Saudi government had always supported Muslim nations during trying times.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, on the other hand, started a public campaign in Saudi Arabia to raise money for individuals impacted by Pakistan’s disastrous floods. According to Saudi Press Agency, donations can be made through the “Sahem” platform run by KS Relief. Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, the supervisor general of KS Relief, claimed that the organization was in charge of the campaign to aid flood victims in Pakistan and that it represented the humanitarian role that the Kingdom plays in aiding those in need all over the world. The project, he continued, was proof of the close ties that exist between the Kingdom and Pakistan.

Al-Rabeeah advised individuals to contribute to the worthy cause by utilizing the “Sahem” app or website or by making a financial contribution to one of the center’s bank accounts at several Saudi banks. He also said that donations will not be used to offset administrative costs. In the hilly north of Pakistan, floods caused by unprecedented monsoon rains and glacier melt have affected 33 million people, killed almost 1,400 people, and destroyed $30 billion worth of property, including homes, roads, trains, cattle, and crops. Earlier, Sheikh Abdul Rehman Al Sudais, the general presidency and the imam of the Kaaba, made a special dua for the flood victims in Pakistan in 2022. Additionally, Sheikh Sudais prayed to Allah, which helped Pakistani citizens cope with the calamity.

One-third of Pakistan’s population is currently flooded, making the current floods one of the deadliest in both human and Pakistani history and forcing the displacement of around 30 million people. More than 30,000 people have been hurt, and the death toll now stands at 1,100.

The Islamic Information has been informed by the rescue crews that there will be more fatalities in the coming days. In flood-affected areas, waterborne infections have emerged, which could kill the same people as the floods. In the upper regions of the provinces of KPK, Sindh, and Baluchistan, rescue is not possible because the majority of the neighboring hospitals are entirely submerged. The catastrophe was brought on by the region’s unrelenting rain. Due to the destruction of 80% of the crops and cattle farms, the country is experiencing its worst-ever inflation.
