Gill not tortured: IG submits

After Justice Amir Farooq had ordered IG Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan to submit a report on alleged torture of Shahbaz Gill, IG Islamabad submitted a 20-page report concluding that Gill was never tortured since he had been arrested.

The report also has Gill’s first ever statement after arrest. Senior Journalist Matiullah Jaan reported the episode.

The report says that after looking into all videos, pics, recording statements of police officers and related people, after looking at all medical reports it was established that Gill was never tortured.

The report says that it has not been proved that he had been sexually or psychologically tortured. However, Gill in denied the report.

The report also said that gill was medically examined 3 times by different medical boards and that all had concluded that no harm was done to Gill.

However Shaba Gill in his statement said that he was picked up at 2pm on 9th August. He said that he was blindfolded and taken to an unidentified location. He said that he was stripped down, and beaten with sticks.

He said that he was informed that he was video tapped while being tortured.

He said that he was interrogated very aggressively. He said that the first 3 nights were full of torture and pain. He said after that he was shifted to PIMS Hospital where nurses and doctors would not respond to my calling. He said that the fake medical board examined me and did not look at any of my injuries.

He said that he was on a hunger strike.

He alleged that all his statements and reports were tempered and that he is not allowed to meet anyone including his lawyers.
