Free laptops are back

The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme will resume, according to the federal government. Under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, 1 lakh students would receive laptops.

The Prime Minister Laptop Program was introduced in 2013 while Nawaz Sharif was in office. In accordance with this programme thousands of students received free computers from Shahbaz Sharif while he was the Chief Minister of Punjab.

However, the laptop programme had been discontinued by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf administration. Postgraduate and PhD students will receive free laptops as part of the programme. The federal government will provide top-notch laptops to the PhD students. According to merit, laptops will be handed to first- through fourth-year undergraduate students.

The percentage of Balochistan students eligible for laptops has doubled. Shahbaz Sharif, the prime minister, ordered the revival of the laptop programme. In the laptop programme, there will also be a quota set aside for women and special people.

Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation tweeted that the government is planning to re-launch the Prime Minister’s laptop scheme for youth this year, under which laptops will be distributed to high-achieving university students.

On International Youth Skills Day, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the special assistant to the prime minister for youth affairs, said this. As many industries, including manufacturing, textiles, and agriculture, have advanced thanks to contemporary technology, Shaza Fatima underlined the importance of educating the next generation in technical and technical abilities.

Prime Minister Imran Khan Launches Digital Media Development Program for Youth Skills Development

The laptop, according to the Special Assistant, is a tool that gives young people access to business, online work, and current skills. She added that the fact that young people make up 68% of Pakistan’s population makes International Skilled Youth Day crucial. She claimed that the Prime Minister’s Program for Youth, through which 100,000 scholarships are awarded each year, was launched by the PML-N government in 2013. According to her, the government will soon reveal the recipients of this year’s scholarships.

According to the Special Assistant, the loan programme for young investors, through which a loan of up to 75 lakh rupees may be secured in convenient instalments, will also be reinstated under the Prime Minister’s programme on youth. The young people will be encouraged to start enterprises so that they can become employers rather than job seekers, she said, adding that specific awareness initiatives and business planning courses will also be launched.
