Fawad Khan has confirmed his presence in the next Ms Marvel series, putting an end to months of doubt.
Fawad addressed queries about whether he was a part of the Marvel programme in a recent interview with Indian journal Film Companion, saying, “Yeah, I am.”
“I can’t refute that or lie about it since they have put out the news themselves,” he added.
Fawad’s casting was first reported in June, when his name was added to the show’s IMDb page, but Marvel had yet to comment.
The Kapoor & Sons star remained tight-lipped about any further information, although he did not hesitate to share his set experience, calling it “amazing.”
“It was a lot of fun.” He stated, “The cast that I worked with, the folks that I worked with, it was a lot of fun, but I’m sorry, I can’t say anything more at this point in time.”
The series will be led by Pakistani-Canadian actress Iman Vellani, who will play Ms. Marvel aka Kamala Khan, with Hollywood icon Brie Larson reprising her role as Carol Danvers or Captain Marvel.
Fawad Afzal Khan is a Pakistani actor, producer, scriptwriter, model, judge, and singer who was born on November 29, 1981. He is widely recognised as one of Pakistan’s greatest modern performers, having won multiple prizes including a Filmfare Award, three Lux Style Awards, and six Hum Awards.
Khan began his acting career in the sitcom Jutt and Bond on television. With the show’s co-stars, he created Entity Paradigm, an alternative rock band, and launched his musical career as its lead singer. Khan was shortlisted for the lead role in the film “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” shortly after his arrival on the scene; however, the role was later won by another Pakistani actor, Riz Ahmad, who received numerous honours and global renown.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Meera Menon, Bilall Fallah, and Adil El Arbi will direct the series.
