Exams Postponed Throughout Karachi As Biparjoy Approaches

The authorities have decided to postpone intermediate and university exams due to Cyclone Biparjoy’s impending danger and the anticipated torrential downpour, which has caused Karachi’s educational institutions to close.

The postponement of all educational events, summer camps, and seminars was requested in a notification sent out by the Commissioner of Karachi on Tuesday due to the storm and predicted torrential rain. Since the exams were initially set for June 14 and 15, the Higher Secondary Education Board has postponed them. The updated dates for the postponed exams will be revealed later by the board management. The new examination schedule is subject to change, so students and other educational stakeholders are recommended to stay informed through official sources.

In reaction to the hurricane, Karachi University (KU) has also taken safety measures. All departments at the university have been shut down, and the Wednesday, June 14th, scheduled academic activities have been postponed, according to an announcement from the institution. Additionally, all exams that were scheduled to be administered on the same day have been canceled until further notice. A KU official advised students to follow official university sources for up-to-date information on any changes to be safe.

A Very Severe Cyclonic Storm has been designated for Cyclone Biparjoy, which developed over the Arabian Sea early this month and has now intensified. 410 km off Karachi’s coast is where it is now located. Authorities in meteorology are keenly observing the development and severity of the cyclone.

In Karachi, there was a dust storm earlier in the day in addition to the cyclone’s approach, which caused delays in traffic and daily routines. The administration has started evacuation measures to relocate 80,000 people from susceptible locations after realizing the potential threats brought on by the cyclone.

The army has been called in to help with the evacuation, ensuring the security of the locals. Authorities are highlighting the significance of readiness and caution as the city gets ready for Cyclone Biparjoy’s effects. Residents are asked to abide by official notifications and instructions while also taking the required safety precautions to protect their property and themselves.
