Ex-Olympic Athlete Khawaja Junaid Banned ‘For Life’

The Pakistan Hockey Federation has banned former national hockey team manager and head coach Khawaja Junaid for life, blaming him solely for Pakistan’s failure to qualify for the World Cup (PHF).

Khawaja Junaid, the manager of the four-time World Cup champion Pakistan Hockey Team, was careless in the team’s failure to qualify for the World Cup. This was the conclusion of the PHF Inquiry Committee, which was established by the previous PHF secretary Asif Bajwa.

Khawaja Junaid, a former Olympian and national team manager, was permanently barred from the federation following Brigadier (R) Khalid Khokhar, the president of the PHF, giving his consent in light of the conclusion of the inquiry committee.

When Pakistan’s hockey team competed in the Asia Cup, Khawaja Junaid managed them, according to the details. The management requested that 12 players be used in the Asia Cup match versus Japan. The disqualification of the goal was also caused by Pakistan’s inability to qualify for the World Cup. Asif Bajwa established a committee to look into the incident’s causes after it happened. Khawaja Junaid submitted his resignation before testifying before the inquiry committee. Khawaja Junaid, an Olympian, has been given a lifetime ban in light of the committee’s report.

It should be emphasized that Khawaja Junaid, the manager of Pakistan, was held accountable for the misbehavior because Pakistan was unable to qualify for the World Cup during the Asia Cup due to his carelessness. According to FIH regulations, the committee has taken action.

The committee attempted to reach Khawaja Junaid, but he failed to show up. Unforgivable harm has been done as a result of Khawaja Junaid’s wrongdoing. After Brigadier R. Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, the president of PHF, gave his assent in light of the inquiry committee’s conclusion, Khawaja Junaid was given a lifetime ban. Khawaja Junaid will not be permitted to take part in any hockey-related activity, a PHF representative stated.
