In a court filing in the legal battle against the Securities and Exchange Commission, Elon Musk’s lawyer Alex Spiro alluded to the words of well-known rapper Eminem’s famous song (SEC).
Musk is attempting to reclaim full control of his Twitter account after the Securities and Exchange Commission imposed a ‘consent decree’ requiring him to get legal approval for Tesla.
Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, used the 2002 song “Without Me” to try to get his 2018 deal with the top US securities regulator, which required the Tesla, Inc. co-founder to get pre-approval for his tweets, thrown out.
“The (SEC) won’t let me be or let me be me,” he explained. “They tried to shut me down.”
The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, wrote, “The FCC won’t let me be or let me be me so let me see/ They attempted to shut me down on MTV.”
The Federal Communications Commission attempted to punish a Colorado radio station for playing Eminem’s song “The Real Slim Shady” in 2000. FCC eventually gave in.

The “First Amendment mandates that agencies operate with prudence when constitutional rights are at stake, not strive to pursue any and all creative ideas that enlarge their authority at the expense of individual freedom,” according to Musk’s lawyer.
