CAA loosens up COVID clench

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has updated its travel guidelines for both local and international flights.

The authorities have canceled the requirement that face masks be worn at all times by the new regulations. Face mask use on domestic and international flights is no longer required, although it is still recommended, according to a CAA tweet shared on its official Twitter account.

The change happened after the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) decided to no longer require face masks to be worn. Mask use as part of non-pharmaceutical interventions is no longer required for internal and international travel, though it is still preferred, according to a notification from NCOC. This is due to the country’s lowering COVID-19 trend.

Other countries have also eased their restriction regarding COVID-19. With its updated coronavirus countermeasures, the Japanese government loosened entrance restrictions for tourists on September 7.

Before the restrictions, only tourists on guided tours were permitted to enter the nation. It is no longer necessary to perform a pre-departure PCR test if you have a current vaccination certificate; the daily cap on visitors has been raised from 20,000 to 50,000, and travelers from all nations are now welcome as long as their travel arrangements have been made through a travel agency.

All remaining entry restrictions for the Coronavirus have been lifted by the Dutch authorities as of last Saturday, September 19, and this includes visitors arriving from outside the European Union. It further emphasizes that all visitors, including those arriving from outside the EU and Schengen area nations, will be subject to the removal of the limitations. Travelers from nations outside of the EU and the Schengen Area have up to now needed to show a vaccination record or recovery certificate to enter the Netherlands.

As of October 1, 2022, all Covid-19 travel entry limitations, as well as testing, quarantine, and isolation requirements for all tourists entering Canada, would be eliminated, according to a statement from the Canadian government. Starting on October 1, 2022, all visitors to Canada, regardless of citizenship, will no longer be required to submit public health data via the ArriveCAN app or website, show proof of immunization, submit pre- or on-arrival testing, carry out Covid-19-related quarantine, or isolation, monitor, or report if they exhibit Covid-19 signs or symptoms after arrival.

Under a significant revision to the UAE’s Covid-19 safety regulations that went into effect on Wednesday, face masks are no longer required in many indoor settings and quarantine guidelines have been loosened. Face coverings are no longer required for personnel and students at schools, many people going to their workplaces, patrons entering indoor spaces like malls and restaurants, and on a large number of flights operated by UAE airlines. The authorities announced at a televised briefing on Monday that facial coverings will only be enforced in places of worship, hospitals, and on public transportation, which includes buses, metros, and taxis. The loosening of Covid-19 guidelines coincides with a precipitous decline in infection rates in recent months.
