All Apple iPhone 13 Variants Subjected to hefty Taxes

PTA opposes the purchase of any iPhone 13 model in Pakistan. PTA has disclosed the applicable taxes for all models of the iPhone 13 if you want to import the device, and it seems like they are discouraging anyone from even thinking about buying one.

The DIRBS tax on iPhone 13 variants and the taxes they announced were just made public by PTA. Tax Payable for Apple iPhone 13 Mini (All Variations): 108,000 for Passport Holders and Rs. 132,000 for National ID Holders. Tax payable for the Apple iPhone 13 (all variations) is Rs. 132,000 for those with a national ID and Rs. 108,000 for those with passports.

Tax payable on Apple iPhone 13 Pro (All Variants) is Rs. 132,000 for those with a national ID and Rs. 108,000 for those with passports. Tax Payable for Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max (All Variants) is 132,000 for those with a national ID and Rs. 108,000 for those with passports These taxes must be paid within 30 days of the phone’s importation if you are registering it on your passport; within 60 days if you are registering it on your ID card.

PTA answers misunderstandings on mobile devices taxes

Due to currency inflation, the global increase in the price of electronic devices, and the outlawing of so-called “Low-range phones,” phones in Pakistan are already much more expensive than elsewhere in the world. The lack of indigenous assembly facilities also has an impact on other issues, such as increased import costs and company prices. All of these factors increase the value of phones beyond what is reasonable given modern standards, but they aren’t even the most expensive portion of buying a phone in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) imposes a 30–40% DIRBS tax on all imported phones for use in Pakistan. This is a bad notion because the Pakistani government has done little to persuade multinational IT companies and foreign investors to open factories or even just assemble facilities there. Instead, because of their own incompetence, they force us to pay these outrageous costs.
