After authorities failed to appear before the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday and present Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry, the court summoned the inspector generals of Islamabad and Punjab police.
After publicly “threaten[ing]” the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members in a media interview yesterday outside Imran Khan’s home in Zaman Park, Fawad was taken into custody from his home earlier today.
In response to a petition for the “recovery” of the former federal minister submitted by Fawad’s cousin Nabeel Shehzad, the LHC had instructed authorities to present Fawad before it.

After the Islamabad police took the PTI leader into temporary custody, the petitioner filed a habeas corpus motion and begged the court to “recover” him. He appealed to the court as well.
