Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke with President of the European Union (EU) Council Charles Michel about the situation in Ukraine, emphasising the urgent need for a ceasefire and de-escalation.

“I restated my demand for a settlement through conversation and diplomacy, emphasising the necessity of humanitarian help.” We all agreed that countries like Pakistan might help facilitate this effort. He remarked on Twitter, “I look forward to close collaboration to promote mutual aims.”

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain told journalists that the prime minister received a phone call from the EU president, who indicated his wish for Pakistan to act as a mediator in the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
“The EU president has spoken to the prime minister about a major project.” “And the prime minister will now take concrete moves in that direction,” Fawad stated.
Separately, the prime minister stated that the government is building low-cost housing projects on a priority basis and that for the first time in the country, poor and middle-class people would be able to obtain loans with low-cost housing subsidies.
“One of the major goals of the administration is the development of South Punjab,” he remarked during a meeting with Minister of State for Housing Muhammad Shabbir Ali Qureshi, who paid him a visit here.
The discussion went over the status of existing development projects within the Ministry of Housing, as well as the current development initiatives under the South Punjab package.
