World’s most powerful passports ranking 2021 out – Pakistani passport ranked fourth worst

ISLAMABAD: Maintaining 107th place in the Henley Passport Index 2021, the Pakistani passport is once again ranked among the worst-performing passports across the globe.

Green passport provides visa-free access to only 32 countries as the Pakistani national could travel to 32 destinations visa-free.

Among the list of least powerful passports, it garnered the honour of having the fourth weakest passport in the world behind only war-torn Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

Amid the major restrictions of international travel, the Henley Passport Index has been released. The Index comprised the list of most and least powerful passport rankings through monitoring of the world’s most travel-friendly passports since 2006.

HPI accesses on how many countries citizens can access without a visa, as well as, using information from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The Japanese passport maintained its top spot with access to 193 countries with Singapore remained runner up with access to 192 countries. Germany and South Korea shared third place with each giving access to 191 destinations.

The other top countries are United Kingdom (UK), the United States which have dropped down to seventh place, along with Switzerland, Belgium, and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) jumped from the 90th position to 68th, and 65th position to 15th, respectively. India and Bangladesh stand at the 84th and 100th ranks, respectively.
