Newly wedded couple from Karachi met a crashing end as the bride, Kiran, lost her life while husband is critically injured in the Gilgit-Baltistan, Thalichi Bus accident.

Sadly, the catastrophe claimed the lives of one man, one child, and five women, while others were injured to varying degrees.

In Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday, a tourist coaster, which was close to the Thalichi area of the Diamer district, plummeted into a ravine off the Karakoram Highway, leaving at least seven people dead and nine others injured.

According to Rescue 1122, the coaster was traveling from Rawalpindi to Gilgit with 31 people on board. The district government of Diamer, Rescue 1122, and other organizations responded quickly in the moments following the disaster, immediately initiating rescue operations. Residents of the region also assisted with the rescue operations.

The injured individuals were swiftly transported to Gilgit for critical medical care, according to the assistant commissioner for Jaglot. The health department and 1122 ambulances aggressively provided the necessary assistance. In response to the tragedy, the hospitals in Diamer and Gilgit implemented emergency procedures. Arrangements are being made by the authorities, in consultation with the families of the deceased, for the transfer of the bodies.

The unfortunate news prompted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to express his heartfelt grief and condolences to the affected families. He sent his condolences and provided necessary instructions to the G-B authorities to ensure quick aid delivery and a successful rescue effort.

The prime minister also ordered the federal government departments to lend their assistance in the rescue and relief efforts, as well as in providing medical care for the injured passengers. PM Shehbaz pleaded with the relevant authorities to launch a comprehensive inquiry to determine the cause of the tragedy, while also wishing for the speedy recovery of those injured in the disaster.
