LAHORE: In a bizarre incident, a security guard impersonating a surgeon operated on a woman in the country’s largest and oldest medical facility Mayo Hospital.

MS Mayo Hospital Dr. Iftikhar while speaking with a private news channel told that the patient was brought to the surgical emergency room for treatment of abscess on May 17.

Looking for easy money, the security guard then convinced the patient’s family members for quick surgery and botched the wound with the wrong procedure. It is also learned that the Butt along with the OT technician also kept bandaging the patient at home for a couple of days.

Following the whole episode of phony medical practice, the administration of Mayo hospital handed over Waheed Butt to the local police, while his accomplice, Usman Butt, the OT technician, was also suspended.

The hospital also formed an inquiry committee headed by Professor Dilawaiz Nadeem to investigate the matter.
