WATCH: Pakistani Kabaddi Player shot while taking selfies with fans after game

Waqas Gujjar, a well-known Kabaddi player from Pakistan, was shot and killed instantaneously during a match at the Panjo festival in the Kahna neighbourhood of Lahore, and the suspect was taken into custody by the police.

The Kabaddi player was reportedly taking photographs with his followers on the ground when the accused, who has been identified as Waris, came over and opened fire, instantly killing him.

The killer was apprehended by the fans who had gathered around him, who then turned him over to the police when the body of the deceased was taken to General Hospital.

Twitter user @Salimmalik58 tweeted that during a game in Lahore, Waqas Gujjar, a well-known member of the Pakistan Kabaddi squad, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants.

Another Twitter user @74MMF that what’s this? In broad daylight, a man was shot in public. No one dared to catch the killer. All of the people just watched.

 

The Punjab Police tweeted on their Twitter account that the accused who killed Waqas Gujjar, a player of Kabaddi team in Lahore, was arrested by the police on the spot. The victim had married the sister of the accused of his choice on which the accused was upset. The accused will definitely be punished.

Another Twitter user @aman_khattana tweeted that unfortunately, in our beloved homeland of Pakistan, criminals are acquitted of major cases of money laundering and recommendation, which shows that there is no rule of law in our country, officials should use their positions properly and criminals should be punished. Impose harsher punishments to end crime.

In a separate incident in India, four armed attackers shot and killed Sandeep Singh Nandal Ambian in the middle of a competition in the Mallian Khurd village in Nakodar, Punjab. Considering that he was one of the leading regional organizers of Kabaddi competitions, the cold-blooded shooting stunned the sports world. He was shot numerous times in the head and rushed to the hospital by a few pals, where the medical staff pronounced him dead.

According to sources, the event happened as Sandeep was waiting to play a round with his colleagues. The shooters could be seen firing bullets at someone in a video of the incident and fled the scene as the crowd sought cover in the wake of the open fire, while the tournament was called off in the middle. He was hit with about 20 to 25 bullets and was certified dead when his body reached the local hospital. The Punjab State Police have opened an inquiry into the entire incident.
