WATCH – British Columbian Singer Breaks Record for Lowest Note

ONTARIO: British Columbian singer and songwriter, Joy Chapman, breaks the Guinness World Record for the lowest vocal note sung by a woman.

The wide vocal range and impressive variations of tones in her voice fueled her to attempt the world record. Chapman, while speaking about the ordeal she faced, said that it was challenging for her to convince people as the day was April 1 when she breaks the world record- as people used to prank others and do unusual hoaxes as a part of the annual global custom.

The new record holder, who recorded the lowest note – a C1, said she started singing from childhood and could sing the multiple ranges including alto, tenor, and bass parts of a song. Apart from echoing so low, she could also sing very high as well.

Narrating her road to the world record, the Surrey-based singer said her niece discovered and convinced her to attempt for the world record.

The record attempt was a grueling and nerve-wracking ordeal for her as the number of things that went wrong as her mother slipped into a coma and passed away, resulting in a sad delay. Later, she faced problems related to studio noise, and yet more camera issues caused problems. Finally, the global Covid-19 pandemic due to which she was forced to close the studio for a specific period.
