Two killed in blast at Indian court building

AMRITSAR – After a blast at the city’s court complex on Thursday that killed at least two people and injured five more, police in Indian Punjab have imposed Section 144 in Ludhiana.

According to Indian media reports, the blast occurred at 12:22 p.m. in the washroom on the third floor, while the district court was in session.

“The truth will be disclosed very soon,” Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi stated. This is being done by someone who is attempting to save themselves. This will also be looked into. We will not allow anyone to disrupt the state’s law and order or peace. Someone appears to have been killed while putting the device together.”

The area was blocked off by police, and fire trucks were dispatched to the scene.

NV Ramana, the Chief Justice of India, has expressed his dismay at the incidence and has asked the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to inquire about the situation.
