After India succumbed to Australia in the ICC Men’s World Cup final on Sunday, it has been reported that an Indian cricket fan passed away from a heart attack.
In the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, the Indian side won ten straight games, establishing themselves as clear favorites heading into the championship game. However, they shattered the nation’s expectations when they fell to Australia in the final by six wickets. While some Indian fans criticized the squad for their subpar performance in the championship game, one supporter took the loss particularly personally. When India lost, Captain Rohit Sharma’s eyes filled with tears, leading Jyoti Kumar Yadav, a 32-year-old software engineer from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, to lose consciousness and collapse to the ground, according to accounts in the Indian media.
Upon being taken to the hospital by his companions, Kumar Yadav’s cause of death was ruled as a heart attack by the medical staff. Following Australia’s victory, India.com reported that Rahul Lohar, 23, took his own life. He had quit his job at a saree shop to witness the India-Australia final, and his brother-in-law claimed, “He was an ardent supporter of the Indian cricket team.” In addition to obtaining a projector for himself and his buddies to watch the game, he also left his job. The distress of the loss became too much for him, and with nobody at home, he took his own life. I became aware of this by 11 p.m. on the evening of the championship game.
The local police station has received a complaint of an unexplained death. The police assert that there is no criminal aspect to the matter, but they are still conducting inquiries. In the aftermath of the India-Australia match, 23-year-old Dev Ranjan Das was found hanging on the terrace of his home in Jaipur, Binjharpur district of Odisha. This resulted in the filing of another suicide case in that area. His relatives claim that when India lost, he rushed out of his room in desperation.
