The Punjab School: Empowering Underprivileged Girls Through STEM Education

In an event held at The Punjab School’s Township Campus, a significant stride in empowering underprivileged girls through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education was witnessed by attendees from across the region.

This transformative initiative, aptly named “Empowering Underprivileged Girls Through STEM Education,” represents a testament to the collaborative efforts of CFLI (Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives), the Makkah Foundation, and The Punjab School.

Distinguished figures, including Mr. Sireen Malik, Head of SaaS Framework at Nokia and Member of the Advisory Board at the STEM School, University of Washington, graced the event with their presence. Syed Ihsan Ullah Waqas, Chief Executive of The Punjab School, was also in attendance, further highlighting the significance of this endeavor.

The central goal of this initiative is to bring about lasting change in the lives of underprivileged girls by granting them access to high-quality STEM education. Thanks to the generous support of CFLI, the Makkah Foundation, and The Punjab School, this project is set to empower and train 250 girls in crucial STEM disciplines.

A poignant moment during the event was the distribution of complimentary robotic kits to accomplished students from the robotics program. These kits are not only valuable educational tools but also serve as a wellspring of inspiration for these talented young girls as they embark on their STEM journey.

Parents and students alike reveled in the event, which not only celebrated their achievements but also underscored the paramount role of STEM education in narrowing the gender gap and promoting equitable opportunities for all.

Dr. Ahmad Jibran Baloch, the Project Director, elucidated that “Empowering Underprivileged Girls Through STEM Education” stands as a pioneering project that underscores the unwavering commitment of CFLI, the Makkah Foundation, and The Punjab School to sculpt a brighter, more inclusive future.

Through endeavors of this nature, the aim is to inculcate a profound sense of purpose, bolstered confidence, and the recognition of boundless potential in the hearts and minds of the next generation.
