Taylor Swift Reigns Supreme: Dominates Spotify’s ‘Billions Club’ Once More

The newest addition to Spotify’s Billions Club is Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer.” This popular song from the pop star’s 2019 album, Lover, has accumulated over 1 billion streams, according to the music streaming service.

This year, @taylorswift13 seems to be enjoying a delightful summer, as stated in a post from Spotify on X (formerly Twitter). I would like to extend my congratulations to you for yet another track in the #BillionsClub. Swift shared a celebratory video on her Instagram Story and reposted Spotify’s congratulatory message with the caption, “Summer just got a BILLION TIMES CRUELLER.” I am truly grateful to all of you for this.

“Cruel Summer” is Swift’s fifth song to reach this milestone, according to Spotify’s own playlist, and it has now joined the exclusive billion-streams club along with 468 other tracks. This achievement follows her lead single from “Midnights,” “Anti-Hero,” her 1989 hits “Blank Space” and “Shake It Off,” as well as her collaboration with Zayn on “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” featured in the soundtrack of Fifty Shades Darker.

In her 2019 album, Lover, “Cruel Summer” was initially included and was later promoted as a single by Republic Records. It reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making Swift the 12th leader on the ranking, and it also topped the Pop Airplay chart published by Billboard. Swift recently set a new milestone on Spotify in late August, achieving 100 million monthly listeners, a first for a female artist on the streaming service.
