Imagine a local leader in such a family picture here in Pakistan on Eid. It seems that gun culture is so ingrained in the society of the United States that even families feel proud holding such lethal weapons.
Recently, a U.S. congressman has faced a plethora of disparagement following his social media post in which his family is posing in front of a Christmas tree with military-style rifles. This comes days after a fatal school shooting.
Merry Christmas! 🎄

In a tweet, Kentucky’s Republican representative Thomas Massie put the caption underneath the photo, saying, “Merry Christmas! ps. Santa, please bring ammo”. Politicians from both the treasury and opposition slammed the photo, besides equally condemned by those families that have become the victims of gun violence.
Amid heated controversy, Massie retweeted support messages. He also directly engaged with multiple Twitter users who said he was ‘insensitive’. Some of the victims’ relatives also came down hard on Massie and replied him through their tweets.
.@RepThomasMassie, since we are sharing family photos, here are mine. One is the last photo that I ever took of Jaime, the other is where she is buried because of the Parkland school shooting.
The Michigan school shooter and his family used to take photos like yours as well. pic.twitter.com/MsQWneJXAp

The picture was posted days after a deadly school shooting in Michigan that claimed the lives of four teenagers and wounding seven others after a student allegedly opened indiscriminate fire with his father’s weapon.
The shooting has once again ignited the debate in the U.S. about gun rights and laws involving gun control.
