Later this month, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan’s top-choice fast bowler, will welcome his wife Ansha Shahid Afridi home. Shaheen Shah Afridi is the third member of the Pakistan cricket team to announce his engagement, following Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf.
He plans to marry Ansha, the second-eldest daughter of the late skipper Shahid Afridi, after the conclusion of the current Asia Cup 2023 and before the start of the upcoming Cricket World Cup in October. According to the wedding invitation that went viral on social media, Shaheen will bring his bride home next Tuesday, September 19.
On September 21, a Walima reception will be held in the capital after their wedding ceremony, which is expected to take place in Karachi. The text on the widely shared card reads, “You are warmly invited to attend the wedding ceremony of Ansha Afridi, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Shahid Khan Afridi, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, son of Mr. & Mrs. Muhammad Ayaz, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.” It is important to note that, according to confirmation from both families, the left-arm pacer got engaged to the senior cricketer’s daughter in 2021.
The pair had their Nikkah ceremony in a private event this February, with the presence of dear friends, family members, and teammates. Shaheen commented on social media when he posted the first images from the private party, saying, “AlhumduLillah, Almighty has been so kind and generous. May we forever serve as a protective covering for one another. We are grateful for your heartfelt sentiments, which added to the joy of our special day. Please keep us in your special prayers.”
