MUMBAI: Aryan Khan, the eldest son of Bollywood King Khan was taken into custody by Narcotics Control Bureau amid a raid on a rave party being held on a cruise ship off the coast of Indian financial capital.
Reports in Indian media quoting sources said the 23-year-old young Khan was detained along with other seven for the consumption of narcotics under Section 8C, 20B, 27 and, 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Earlier, he was detained for interrogation while the official arrest was made around 2 pm today (Sunday). NCB officials confirmed the possession of around 13 gm cocaine, 21 gm charas, 22 pills of Ecstacy, 5 gm MD, other than cash equivalent to INR 1.33.
Khan was shifted to a hospital for a medical check-up as in the written statement, the 23-year-old reportedly denied purchasing the banned substances.
Later, a local court granted custody of Aryan Khan, along with two other accused till October 4. The legal representative of Aryan Khan prayed before the court to remand Khan to one-day custody so that regular court can hear the bail application of his client.
Furthermore, the other detained persons include Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker, Gomit Chopra and Arbaaz Merchant.
Speaking with the wire news service, the chief of the Indian federal law enforcement agency said they raided the cruise after getting a tipoff about the rave party at the cruise while they were also informed about the presence of people related to Bollywood.
SN Pradhan said “NCB only did its job and its job does not include finding out who is the son of a celebrity or not. It is not the job of NCB to find out from which industry and who are joining. Who is the son of an industrialist, who is the son of a film star, this is not our work.”

He went on to say that “our job is to take action on an equal scale and we are taking action on the same scale and this action will continue in the future also and whoever is found involved in this network, irrespective of the industry they belong to, we will take action”.
In the meanwhile, the punishment under the above-mentioned charges can be thorough imprisonment for a term which may extend to around six months, or a penalty, or both.
As Bollywood superstar got related with the case due to the arrest of his son, it became a high-profile case in hours and is currently trending on Twitter, however, this is not such bust as earlier Indian officials detained and probes a number of actors including infamous Rhea Chakraborty.
The punishment for the consumption of drugs mentioned in the NDPS act is rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with a fine which may extend to twenty thousand rupees; or with both.
