Remarkable Achievement: Pakistani Female Shooter Secures 5th Position in Annual Asian Shooting Rankings

Kishmala Talat, the sports shooter from Pakistan, attained the fifth spot in the annual Asian Shooting rankings released by the Asian Shooting Confederation.

These rankings, disclosed at the year’s end, highlight the 21-year-old Kishmala’s prowess in the women’s 10-metre air pistol shooting discipline. Accumulating a total of 2,505 rating points, Kishmala earned herself a position among the top five shooters in this category. Notably, she emerged as the highest-ranked Pakistani shooter across all divisions in the 2023 rankings, showcasing a remarkable journey from being unranked in the preceding year, 2022.

Kishmala’s outstanding achievements encompass winning a bronze medal for Pakistan in the 2023 Asian Games in the women’s 10m air pistol event. Her exceptional skills were also evident in the World Champions and Asian Championship, solidifying her status as an emerging star in the realm of sports shooting. Furthermore, Kishmala secured the 15th position in the women’s 25m air pistol category, underscoring her proficiency across diverse disciplines.

In the broader context of the Asian Shooting rankings, the next highest-ranked Pakistani athlete is GM Bashir, holding the eighth position in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol category. Usman Chand, representing Pakistan in men’s skeet, claimed the tenth position, while Gulfam Joseph secured the 14th position in the men’s 10m air pistol rankings.
